I know he was involved in a lot of big projects like accomplishing the 'strategic goal of completely eliminating the internal combustion engine' (Earth in the Balance, p. 326), but I was totally unaware of his Internet creation," Sensenbrenner said.

In an interview that aired March 9, 1999 with CNN's Wolf Blitzer, Gore said, "During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet."
