J. DB. Who suggests Ahhnold or The Rock would be excellent
hosts, among others, says he will think about joing SPEW. When
asked if he would be willing to be honorary chairperson of SPEW,
he says, "Okay".

I find this strategery for one of America's most heritigeous
institutions misguided to say the least. And the type of singing
one
would expect from Mr. Gandolfini ...well, there's only one way to say
this....Mr. Gandolfini...you are no Bert Parks!
In these times we need someone who truly, not only embodies the values
of the pageant, but can flaunt them with great aplomb. Someone whose
very presence says "F You" to the likes of Osama and all the Muslim
terrorists. Someone who can belt out the final song in the same
heartfelt, sincere (albeit corny) manner of the one and only Mr. Parks.
My vote is for Tammy Faye Messner. Terrorists watching will take no
comfort in a WOMAN host, a true survivor with the necessary character
and appreciation for diversity (NOTE: her mastery of Kabuki theater
makeup techniques and her ability to appreciate the costume talents of
female impersonators everywhere). Only Tammy has the vigor America
requires in this more dangerous era. Vote for Tammy, a true national
treasure who can lead the pageant into a new American century.

President Clinton should be the host. Terrorists like Osama would be
brought to their knees.

SPEW just keeps growing. Yesterday SPEWNEWS
spoke with someone who knows someone who has
for many years worked with the pageant, attending
pageants with the contestant from a particular state
as an experienced assistant. Wow! Our source said
that her source emphasizes that the pageant is a
scholarship program and that the contestants are all
highly intelligent.
George Clooney was suggested and another spewer
mentioned Bill Clinton. The latter would be able to
serenade the contestants on the saxophone, as well
as draw an audience. Rhodes scholar. Married to a
former first lady and woman senator. So many
contestants are in law school. Clinton's attorney general
was the first woman to hold that office. Note that Janet
Reno was one of the answers to the eight questions
asked of the five finalists at the 2003 pageant. It seems
like a great fit in all sorts of ways, though the words "blue
dress" threaten to rain on this parade. One of SPEW's
charter members said that Linda Tripp should be one of
the pageant's judges, if Clinton is the host.
On the Tavis Smiley show Bill Clinton was described as
the first black president, a perception that might lend an
important element to the pageant. Further, Clinton's call
to re-invent institutions has been identified as the kind of
imagination essential to renewal of the pageant.
